Dear Elizabeth,
I just want to let you know how proud I am of you. In the four and a half years you have been alive you have made an impact on me and our family in ways that are only positive and uplifting.
You really amaze me, and I’m not just saying that as a proud parent. I really am constantly impressed with you. You have a heart of gold. You love your family tremendously, and you’re a great big sister to Emma. You’re very talented, and I swear that you’re smarter than I was at your age. You’re so observant and sharp; you’re a quick learner. You are a gifted artist. I could go on and on, but lately I have really been impressed with your desire to live a healthy lifestyle and your early dedication to it.
Not too long ago I began reading a book to you about the human body. It explains how the basics, and how vital organs work. In there you learned about some of the negative results of eating junk food. Afterwards you said that you didn’t want to eat junk food anymore. Although you have eaten some junk food on occasion since then, you have been committed to turning it down. I can’t believe that a four year old is actually and willingly saying “no” to things like milk shakes and cookies, but you are. And you’re even asking mom to buy things such as broccoli.
I’m impressed, and I’m proud of you. You’re decision to want to eat healthy is inspiring.
I love you,
Daddy
