Flying Fish

As I was traveling across the Howard Frankland Bridge this morning, crossing over the Bay, on my way to downtown Tampa to visit my favorite thrift store, I’m looking to the sky for fish. That’s right, I said fish. This has become more of an addiction because I can’t help myself. No, I haven’t lost my mind. The truth is the birds flying around over the bay are very skilled at fishing. Better than man I would say. Many times,I will spot a bird, fish clutched in talons, flying to some perfect spot to eat it’s treasured catch. Well, they brought their “A” game today. The first one I caught sight of was flying in the same direction as I, slightly ahead of me. I watched him/her momentarily pause, mid flight, and wiggle. I imagine that is due to the fish no doubt vehemently protesting to being plucked from it’s natural environment off to a place to soon be another creature’s morning meal. Haha, I love this! The reason I can’t keep from bird watching, is because Im waiting till the day I observe one of these birds lose it’s catch to watch it fall to the windshield of some unsuspecting car underneath. Before you judge me and think this is some sick wish to witness a multi-car pile up, I would prefer that car to be mine. You see, I’m prepared for it. So with the adrenaline rush, and wet pants due to me laughing so hard that I pee on myself because the bridge is 7 miles long with no rest stop in sight, this tale would be epic. How could a person top that story? I just wonder if this has ever happened before. I really can’t believe it hasn’t.

Everyone comes to Florida for the beaches, or the sunshine. Those things are over-rated. The real fun is right above your head, or roof of your car. If you have never thought of this possibility before, prepare yourself now so that you won’t over react if a fish falls out of the sky and splatters on your windshield.
